James J. Dooley

 

Jim is a member of the ISIS Business & Technology Advisory Board with extensive experience in fields of engineering and management in domestic and international operations. His areas of expertise include: product design, manufacturing, business planning, facility design, outsourcing, quality improvement programs and organizational development.

For 30 years, Jim held top-level management, engineering and operations positions with Fortune 200 world leaders Hasbro Inc. and Mattel Inc., the world's two largest toy manufacturers. For Hasbro, Jim was Senior Vice President Manufacturing & Sourcing and Vice President Engineering Far East. For Mattel, Jim was the General Manager for Mattel Toys Ltd., Hong Kong; the Engineering Director for Mattel Toys (HK) Ltd. Hong Kong; and Product Engineering Manager for Mattel's Standard Plastic Products Division.

During the preceding 8 years, Jim held product management and engineering, and production engineering positionings with Mego Corp, Berkey Inc, Van Dyke Research and Remco Industries.

This career puts Jim on a world-class level in such in-house and outsourcing disciplines as:

  • Product development: concept to production
  • Design engineering: product designs that pass DFM and FMEA reviews ready for tooling
  • Product costing: managed cost control, vendor selection and product cost records
  • Model shop: generation of breadboards and engineering models
  • Quality: integration of a total quality system philosophy throughout an organization
  • Tooling: procure plastic mold tooling for use at global manufacturing sites
  • Contract manufacturing: component supply to complex electro mechanical products

Jim fully appreciates the need for top line profitable growth derived via well planned and implemented operations procedures from product inception through in-house or outsourced manufacturing.

Jim holds a B.S. degree in Management from Rutgers University. He is married with 2 adult children and a citizen of the United States.
