John S. Metz
John is a member of the ISIS Business & Technology Advisory Board with considerable background in building business in the international medical and healthcare fields through internal growth, global expansion, acquisitions and new business development.Following a distinguished 18-year career with Kimberly-Clark Corporation -- where he held such posts as President, Health Care Strategic Acquisitions; President, Professional Health Care Sector; Vice President, Hospital Sales & Marketing; and Director, Geriatric Care Business -- John focused his expertise on earlier-stage companies in the high-tech medical and biotechnology arenas.
His first post-Kimberly-Clark challenge was as President & CEO of Bio-Plexus, Inc., a public company (NASDAQ: Small-Cap), where he effected a turnaround and successfully sold the company to ICU Medical (NASDAQ: ICUI) in November 2002. Key customers and licensees of Bio-Plexus included Johnson & Johnson, Fresenius Medical Corporation, TFX Medical, Boston Scientific and C. R. Bard.
Following the sale of Bio-Plexus, John became President and CEO of Nauset Biomedical Partners, LLC which focuses on strategy development and M&A assistance, particularly to early-stage medical and biotechnology companies.
Early in John's career he was Marketing Manager, Diabetes Care for Becton-Dickinson & Company and Marketing Manager of OTCs and Generic Pharmaceuticals at McKesson Brands.
John was a Member of the Board of Trustees (1994-2004) for the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases and a Member of the Board of Visitors of Georgetown University's School of Nursing.
John earned a B.A. and M.S. in Mathematics from The University of Mississippi and an M.B.A. from Stanford University. He is a citizen of the United States.
