Once Again, ISIS International Played a Key Role
Monroe, CT USA - October 2005

ISIS congratulates The Dow Chemical Company for being awarded the prestigious "R&D 100 Award" by R&D Magazine for the invention of VERSIFY Plastomers and Elastomers. The award designates VERSIFY Plastomers and Elastomers as one of the 100 most innovative and technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace over the past year (2005). Now in its 43rd year, the R&D 100 Award is commonly referred to as "The Oscars of Invention."

Eleven Industry Opinion Leaders, who knew the VERSIFY Technology by its ISIS code name "EPT," for Extended Polyolefin Technology, represented their diverse global corporations in the ISIS Summit SystemSM for Speed-Based CommercializationSM, that aided Dow to accelerate and enhance commercialization of Versify in selected key markets including fibers and molded parts. The identity of these companies remains confidential.

Previous winners of the R&D 100 Award have included the halogen lamp, the fax machine, the printer, liquid crystal displays, and HDTV.

VERSIFY Plastomers and Elastomers are a versatile family of specialty propylene-ethylene copolymers produced using a revolutionary catalyst in combination with Dow's proprietary INSITETM Technology and Solution Process.

These new polymers are based on truly innovative technology - a breakthrough union of propylene and ethylene that provides polymer converters, processors, and formulators with a world of possibilities for new products, new applications, and new markets. Used alone or in blends, the unique molecular architecture of VERSIFY Plastomers and Elastomers helps produce films, fibers, and molded parts with outstanding performance combinations.

ISIS acts as a catalyst and intermediary to Dow and other Fortune 200 companies in the introduction of new technology, the expansion of existing technologies into new markets and the development of breakthrough innovations, such as Dow's new XLA Elastic FibersTM. In its proprietary Summit System for Speed-Based Commercialization, ISIS engages high level technology and business Decision-Makers (Industry Opinion Leaders) to determine value markets, define the products and applications, then, through a highly collaborative system, brings lead customer decision-making teams together with the management team of its client to begin early joint development programs. Results are global product/technology roll-outs in a fraction of the time it takes using traditional in-house methods or consulting firms.
