Summit System
'Classic' Methodlogy and
NEW 'Summit Express'sm
The Summit Business Development Systemsm is a powerful market-driven approach used to catalyze business growth and value creation.Adaptable to meeting a range of top management needs, the Summit Business Development System ("Summit System") is most often commissioned by clients to:
- Accelerate commercialization of technology in current or unfamiliar markets;
- Acquire new strategic technology;
- Develop a new core business, business model, or new global business strategy;
- Manage a technical breakthrough/technical solution; or
- Define and commercialize next generation products, systems or processes.
The Summit System facilitates formation of domestic and global alliances between technology developers and technology users through collaborations, joint development relationships, marketing partnerships, and other forms of strategic alliance. These special relationships, put in place by the Summit System, enable rapid commercialization of System results and dramatically reduce time to market.
At the heart of the Summit process is the Summit Conference itself, an intense meeting of 12-14 people... but not just any meeting, nor just any people. The Panel is comprised of specifically targeted International Opinion Leaders (e.g. Industry Opinion Leaders, Societal Opinion Leaders or Technology Opinion Leaders) chosen because of their relationship to the subject matter, the objectives of the Summit System, and their influence within their industry, their organization or their community. Whether they represent a potential customer, alliance partner, or some other key element of the external environment, every Panelist is chosen for high relevance and the potential role their organization can play in our Client's future commercial actions. A Summit Panel is a high-powered, influential team operating on behalf of the Client, whose identity remains confidential throughout most of the process to ensure objectivity and candor.
Results of a Summit System are Commercial Actions!
Here are typical milestones in a Summit System employing Classic methodology:
Program Planning Workshops: ISIS senior professionals meet with the Client team for 2 days at the beginning and end of a 6 day period (4 days client total/2 days ISIS documentation), to define Objectives, Deliverables and Metrics to guide the program.Panelist Selection: Using proprietary intelligence and networking techniques, and ISIS' international corporate relationships throughout the world, a 12-14 member Panel of Opinion Leaders is identified, qualified and invited with the concurrence of the Client. No two Panels are alike. See Summit Panel Examples.
Briefing Document (BD): Using client-developed data, ISIS prepares a Client-approved comprehensive BD for use in recruiting and preparing targeted Panelists for the Summit Conference. ISIS manages the infrastructure surrounding the Summit event.
Summit Conference: Using leading edge facilitation techniques and tools, ISIS conducts the Summit at a conference center location with a Technical Advisor, when appropriate. Conferences are professionally videotaped for later, in-depth review and analysis.
Post Summit: ISIS performs in-depth Panelist follow-ups on actionable areas and prepares both a Summit Transcript and an accompanying "Key Issues" Summit Database from the videotapes.
Summit Review Workshops (SRWs): Intensive 3 to 5 day Client Core Team video review of Summit Panelist input, prioritization of results and orientation for next commercial steps. (Portions are appropriate for broader Client participation.)
Commercial Transition Workshops (CTWs): ISIS organizes and conducts CTWs with Client and Panelist management teams at the Panelists' place of business. This commercial transition stage of the Program validates Panelists' interests, propositions and commitments, and launches Client-Panelist action plans. ISIS facilitates transition of the relationship it has with Panelists to the Client. See Commercial Transition Workshops.
Commercial Planning Workshops: ISIS/Client review all CTW results and adjust the strategic planning and action planning accordingly. Commercial actions are underway.
Total elapsed time: 8 months. This time frame and the above methodology corresponds to the Summit System "Classic" methodology.
NOTE: The New Summit System Expresssm methodology is even faster, requiring only 6 months. Ask an ISIS representative for a features and benefits comparison.
See Summit System Results.Service fees are dependent on the Summit System methodology employed (Classic or Express), scope of objectives, geographical diversity of the Panel, and the location of the Summit Conference itself.
